Description

Folklore! Coyote gets plenty of due in various Native American stories, but I think in the rare occasions he shows up instead of Br’er Fox for the Tar Baby tale he doesn’t get enough credit. Br’er Coyote’s mangy, pacey, and clever, and you have to worry about Br’er Coyote eating your melons and your children. On the off chance you tell him to scoot on or eat garbage, well, he’ll happily do that too. Br’er Coyote’s not picky.

And if you’re a dog, you’ve got to worry extra, because Br’er Coyote’ll steal your sister or brother or children and they’ll end up having children, and then when they come down to visit you’ll have a bunch of bouncy, mangy, clever little hybrid nieces or grandkids running around trying to eat your melons and the neighbor’s kids and garbage and then what’ll you do?
